The Eastern Caribbean Trading and Agriculture Development Organisation (ECTAD), the registered Secretariat of the Caribbean Farmers Network (CaFAN) has been the lead organisation within the network in exploring trading markets for agricultural produce within the Caribbean Region as well as to markets in Europe, primarily England and France.

ECTAD commenced its intra-regional trade thrust through its farmers' groups from a number of areas in St. Vincent with the shipment of a wide assortment of produce to Grenada in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Ivan in 2004. This was followed up with commencement, of regular shipment of roots and tubers, primarily dasheen to European markets, namely, England and France, which has been sustained over the past nine years.

As of 2016, ECTAD continued its marketing thrust, supplying over 1,450 boxes of produce to Bunny Import Export in Trinidad and Tobago. According to Chief Coordinator of ECTAD/CaFAN, Mr. Jethro Greene, "This is only the beginning of a regional comprehensive production, marketing, import replacement and food and nutrition security program, that will involve many more Caribbean countries lead by small farmers business organisations to local, regional and international markets".
