Mr. Neil Gomes of Antigua and Barbuda, will be representing CaFAN at the CaRAPN Medium Term Strategic Planning Workshop. The workshop will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from July 27-29th, 2010 at the Normandie Hotel, St. Anns, Trinidad.
The main objectives of the meeting is to:
- Establish the context and platform for strengthening agricultural policy networking in CARICOM in the medium term (2010-2015)
- Within that context, to define a niche for CaRAPAN and thus develop a strategic plan to guide operations in the medium term
- Recommend practical formal and informal processes and mechanisms to engage partners, stakeholders, beneficiaries of CaRAPAN.
The meeting is organised with by IICA with technical and financial support from CARDI and CTA.
The Caribbean Farmers Network (CaFAN) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) under the European Union All African Caribbean and Pacific Agricultural Commodities Programme (EU AAACP), and the Italy funded “Promoting CARICOM / CARIFORUM Food Security” Project (GTFS/RLA/141/ITA) is co-hosting and organizing a ‘Regional Training Course in Agribusiness Management for Farmers’ Organizations’.
